
What were your challenges before approaching RotaCentral?
We were coordinating volunteers using Whatsapp which – with a growing number in the group – was long winded and clunky. Some people chose to opt out of the Whatsapp group because it was too busy. Looking back at all the messages to decipher the overall staffing outcome was time consuming and sometimes done inaccurately.

Staffing our café with volunteers, staffing our café with managers (separate rota) and our outside events (separate rota).

We have four administrators managing the rotas.
How many volunteers do you have using the system?
We have approximately 60 volunteers using the system.
What difference has RotaCentral made to you as an administrator?
It has totally streamlined the process of filling our rotas. It has saved Just-Ice Poynton lots of time and removed lots of hassle out of organising who is doing what when.
What difference has RotaCentral made to your volunteers?
Made the rota clearer for them, given choice as to shift lengths and days, easy and quick to use. Only two of our older volunteers who are less experienced with tech have needed support in making bookings.
What difference has RotaCentral made to the running of your organisation overall?
It has really helped make us more efficient, ensure no shifts are understaffed, helped us to communicate with all volunteers using the bulk email function.
Is there anything we could have done better to improve our services and delivery to you?
We can’t think of anything that could have been done to improve your service and delivery. The telephone/email support has been very efficient too.
Would you recommend us to others and why?
We would definitely recommend RotaCentral. It’s been a great return on investment for us. The system is cost effective and efficient.

RotaCentral has been a lifesaver!
We are so glad that we found it just before we opened our café! We love the visual aspect of being able to look at any given day/week and immediately see which staff are in for which roles. Our volunteers (60 of them!) sign up with no fuss or queries or technical problems & we’ve recently discovered the ‘cancel my shift’ feature which is handy occasionally and clearly lets us know when someone can’t make it after all. We’ve even started using it for gathering attendees for one-off events like our staff party, food hygiene training session or deep clean evening. It was such a reasonable cost for the efficiencies it has brought. Highly recommended!
